What’s in the Dimpsey Hut?

We want staying in the hut to feel like a luxury hotel, so we’ve tried to go the extra mile to make it really comfortable for you, ensuring that all the styling is from British designers and adding in extra little treats to delight you.

The hut is 18 feet long and contains a double bed, seating, kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and flushing toilet.

Dimpsey Slumber Space

In our opinion, there’s nothing worse than having to make a bed every day, so our double bed pulls down out of the wall fully made with luxury British bed linen and cosy blankets. You can either leave it down and use the sofa bench seat to lounge on during the day…or tuck it away again when you’re ready.

The shepherd’s hut was made less than 10 minutes away from our farm, we try wherever possible to use local suppliers or vintage pieces.  We provide recycling facilities and we also compost all of your food waste.  We grow herbs and some veg outside the shepherd’s hut for your use and if you order meat from our farm, your food miles can be measured in feet!

The Dimpsey Welcome Tea Tray

The Dimpsey welcome tea tray will be waiting for you on arrival with a little baked goodness for you – there’s nothing better than a cuppa when you arrive!

Dimpsey Romance – Wood-fired log burners and hot-tubs…

There’s nothing better than a real fire so inside the Dimpsey hut there is a wood burning stove with a constant supply of wood to keep you toasty and warm – we don’t charge extra for this – it’s included in the price.

Outside the Dimpsey shepherd’s hut, we have a wood-fired hot-tub for your exclusive use – perfect for soaking in whilst gazing up at the stars. We show you how to use the wood-fired hot-tub when you arrive and believe us, you’ll love it!

Dimpsey Showers and more

There is a lovely bathroom hidden away behind the double doors at the end of the hut.  We provide towels, a hair dryer and a starter selection of luxury shower treats. There’s plenty of room in the shower and there is also a granite washbasin and flushing toilet (no compost loos!).

Dimpsey Extras

We’ve tried to think of some extra bits and pieces that will be useful, like a lovely little flask and enamel mugs to take with you, as well as a local map, if you go walking,  We also have a vintage picnic basket – for which we can provide sandwiches and treats for if you let us know in advance.

We style the hut with things that we think you will enjoy, so the contents do change now and then.  We do this so that you have lovely and unique items to enjoy while you’re here – and we can also say, hand-on-heart that we don’t use anything that we haven’t tried ourselves.  If you do fall in love with something, let us know as we can source you similar items.  For information regarding the designers please go to our designers page.

What do you need to bring?

Dimpsey is all about you-time, so the main thing is to leave your timetable and schedule at home and bring a willingness to step back and take things easy. The Welcome Pack will tell you all the things we have here and you can add your own personal choices to make it a really indulgent break!
